Hi, I’m Natalie Devito, the owner of Mountain Raised Retrievers
Shelby and I in Casper, WY at the Boomtown HRC club where she earned her two passes towards her SHR title, summer of 22.
I am a small in-home Golden Retriever breeder located in Central Wyoming, in a small town called Lander. We plan breeding’s carefully with 1 -2 litters a year. Growing up, my husband and I always had a love for Golden Retrievers. We live in active lifestyle and love to go fishing, hiking, camping, and of course, hunting! Anywhere from big game to bird hunting. We knew we wanted a golden retriever that could balance an active working lifestyle and be a family companion. In 2021, my husband and I purchased our first field-bred Golden Retriever together from Platte River Retrievers in Nebraska, Shelby, who is the foundation female of my breeding program. That same year, we moved from Illinois to Wyoming to chase our dreams of living and raising our future family in the mountains. Shelby exceeded our expectations, and I knew I wanted to raise and train field-bred golden retrievers to be excellent hunting and working family companion dogs. Thus in 2023, the journey of Mountain Raised Retrievers was born!
We live on 5 beautiful acres with a pond for our golden girl and future goldens to have plenty of space to run and swim. Shelby is raised in our home and is our family and hunting companion. She is spoiled daily, and almost always tags along on our outdoor adventures. Shelby is truly the best example of the breed’s temperament, workability, trainability, and versatility; with a natural prey drive!
WHAT I STRIVE FOR
My goal is to continue to conserve the Golden Retriever breed for what they were originally bred for, which is to work and be hunting/family companions. It is important for me to help you pick a puppy that will make an excellent working dog, and also be the best family member in your home. As a responsible breeder, I follow the Golden Retriever Club of America (GRCA) code of ethics, which recommends the proper health tests including, OFA hips/elbows, eyes, cardiac, and recessive genetic health tests. All of our Golden Retrievers will continue to be fully health tested. I am dedicated to the breed by continuing to strive and improve on health, longevity, temperament, high drive to work, versatility, confidence, intelligence, training, titling, and being the best family companions.
We love Golden Retrievers and want to continue to share that passion with our puppy owners. I want you to have the best experience with your new puppy so please feel free to reach out to me with any questions. Remember, these are active dogs that need regular exercise and are not complete couch potatoes. Thank you for your interest, and I look forward to meeting and providing you with your next or first field-bred Golden Retriever!
