Gotcha Day!
Puppy pickup day is here! You will finally be getting your puppy along with a puppy goodie pack! Puppies will go home at around 8 weeks old. Any puppy that stays starting at 9 weeks old, if discussed prior, a training fee will be charged daily until puppy goes home. On gotcha day, you will be given a puppy packet filled with information that we will discuss, including microchip enrollment, free 30 health insurance, AKC registration, contract signing and other information pertaining to the puppy.
We welcome puppy families to our home to pick up their puppy, however, I know for some families we may need to make other arrangements outside of the home. For families traveling via airlines, if you aren’t able to meet at my home, we can discuss for me to deliver your puppy to the airport or a flight nanny, at your discretion. There will be a time/gas fee for me to meet you at the airport, since the bigger airports are 2.5-3hr from my home along with a fee for the My VetLink puppy health certificate, which is required for traveling by airplane with your puppy. All puppies need to be 8 weeks of age to fly. Another option would be ground transport service with a hired driver to deliver your puppy to your home. Cost will vary based on distance and driver.
Below are items to bring when you pick up your puppy:
-
Final Puppy Payment
Final payment will be the remaining balance due in CASH upon pickup or meeting, only. For families traveling/flying from afar, I will accept an online payment only if paid at least 72 hours in advanced before puppy leaves our home, via Venmo. Other payments such as cashier’s check or certified check are fine too. Please let me know ahead of time your method of payment.
-
Credit or debit card
For microchip enrollment and/or AKC registration. All puppies will have the AKC Reunite microchip implanted. If you would like me to help with the AKC registration (optional), please have the AKC name begin with “Mountain Raised”.
-
Crate
A crate is preferred to have your puppy sleep in during the car ride home for a safer option. However, some puppy owners like to hold the puppy in their laps for bonding time. It is up to you!
-
Food & Water
Please provide your puppy with some food and water during your car ride home. They will have a small amount of food and water day of pickup to avoid any accidents or sickness.
